Your sessions at St Johns Primary School on National Clean Air day helped the pupils improve cycle skills so that they and their families feel confident to leave the car at home more often and enjoy the benefits of cleaner air riding their bikes!
Thank you Vincent!
Hazel Agombar, School Travel Officer, Southampton City Council.
Very happy with the service provided by Vincent helping my son to learn to ride a bicycle. He was extremely patient with him, even when my son insisted that he was not going to keep trying!
Vincent has given my son the skills he needs to be able to ride independently, and most importantly has instilled confidence!
Vincent had a lot of Patience with our nervous son. He achieved more in an hour than with us in a month, so comes highly recommended!
Thanks for running the bike back up the learning slope a hundred times!
My son had completely lost all confidence. After just a few hours with Vincent, it had been given back to him using safe methods of tutoring, there is no stopping him now!
Many thanks Vincent, I am now rest assured that he has the skills and knowledge to keep himself safe.
J Gale, Southampton
Thank you very much!
The very next day we went for a family bike ride, and my Children put their helmets on without having to be asked to do so.
Worth every penny!

Richard Mosely, Care manager, Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy, Bransgore
Vincent is a great instructor and not only taught the skills in a thorough manner, but ensured that my 10 year old son understood why he was learning them!
The training was a good mix of practical experience and verbal information. Vincent is very knowledgeable and at the end of the training session, myself and the rest of the staff team felt confident that we will be able to risk assess and run safe cycling session with our service users.
Claire Pickering, Manager ‘R community’ St Denys, Southampton & Lymington
“We were blessed to find Vincent!
Our son missed out on the Level 1 & 2 Bikeability Course run at his school. He was very disappointed and we were really concerned that he would not receive instruction in essential road safety skills. Thankfully, we found Vincent’s details and very quickly organised 1:1 lessons on Saturdays. From the start we were extremely impressed by Vincent’s expertise, patience, enthusiasm and empathy. Our son, age 11, had little experience of cycling on roads. He always looked forward to his lessons and thought that Vincent was wonderful! Each week Vincent emailed a report regarding the session’s content, progress made and homework. This was really useful. When our son returned home with the certificate and badge after the final session he was beaming with pride. We know that our son received an extremely thorough grounding in cycling safely on roads.
We would highly recommend Vincent and can’t thank him enough.”
Mr and Mrs D., Winchester.
“I was so impressed that within 10-15 minutes Vincent had my son riding without stabilisers! My son was not confident at all and Vincent made him feel safe so that he could ride alone. I would recommend him to anyone whose child won’t ride without mum’s / dad’s hand on the back. It has certainly worked for us!!!!”
Gail G., Totton.
“Our son is 10years old and has Asperger Syndrome and Dyspraxia; due to the combined effect of these conditions we never thought that he would ever be able to ride a bike.
We soon realised that we were in need of specialist help.
Luckily we came across Vincent, who came around to chat with Sam and get to know him.
The first training session was a huge success; our son could get on and off a bike without getting tangled up. The stabilisers came off the bike at the second session, since then Sam has steadily progressed and, just before Christmas 09 he was able to ride with only minimal assistance. Training continued this year and Sam can now ride without as much as a helping hand. This is an amazing achievement for Sam and it has boosted his self-esteem to no end.
Recently, together with Vincent, Sam made his first journey on a local cycle track.
We are so happy, and grateful for the skill and patience Vincent has shown.”
Maria A., Calmore.
“Christopher really enjoyed the cycle training and learnt a lot.
You have the balance right between teaching and making it fun.”
Sarah B., Colden Common.
“Choosing Vincent to teach our 3 teenage sons to ride confidently and safely, was the best thing we could have done for them, and us!
Vincent, you were kind, patient and above all, fun!
The boys totally respected you.
Thank you so much for your time and help, and here’s looking forward
to negotiating the busy Southampton junctions soon.”
The M. family, Milford on Sea.
I know the Children enjoy their time with you, and get the most out of it.
Health & Safety; I think that you are well prepared in this area.
It’s always a slight worry seeing Children working on ‘live’ Roads,
only because drivers can be very unpredictable.
Thank you for all you do with the Children.”
Lynne Thorne, Head Teacher, Calmore Junior School.
“To Vincent, Thank you for teaching me cycle skills”
Owen F., Calmore.
“I think it has been a great opportunity for the Children to learn these cycle skills, And my Child thoroughly enjoyed it.
A parent from Calmore.
“Great, I wouldn’t have thought I’d be able to cycle on the Road in the time I did it. Really pleased!”
“We would like to say a big thank you to Vincent, who helped our son Josh so much. Josh has Dyspraxia and although he could ride his bike, he was quite wobbly and not very confident. We were very keen to get him to learn at least cycle on our estate, but to know that he would be safe. Vincent has been absolutely brilliant with Josh. He has been calm, encouraging and given josh the confidence he was lacking. After just a few one-one lessons Josh was confidently cycling around obstacles and even using one hand, amazing!
Once Josh had passed his level 1, Vincent moved on to Level 2, even travelling from Calmore to Hedge End Southampton and taking Josh out on the very Roads that he needs to be able to cycle on.
We have been absolutely delighted with the progress Josh has made and we can now continue to go for rides as a family.
If you have a Child with or without any difficulties, I would certainly recommend you use Vincent. You won’t be disappointed.”
Susan S. Hedge End.
“Vincent has incredible drive and determination aligned with a passion for cycling that is infectious. As a direct result of his input I have seen young people with some of the most complex needs inspired and motivated to a level I would have found hard to imagine. I have had the honour of presenting bikeability awards to young people, who have achieved Certificates for Achievements in the first time in their lives.
The smile on their faces will remain in my mind long after the event.
I recommend Vincent to you without reservation.”
Paul Donkersloot, former Principal of Priory Coxlease School & Head of Service Opinions Group.
“We consider ourselves lucky to have found out about this course, which was run by a very professional, helpful and competent local instructor. Many thanks.”
Liz P., Hythe.
“Thank you for the 2 hour training, it has given me confidence when making manoeuvres and informed me of my rights and safety aspects.”
Terry L., Southampton.
“I thought this was a fantastic offer from Southampton City Council, and although I was given a choice of instructors, I am very happy that I went with Vincent. The session has greatly helped my confidence in cycling to and from work daily with a child seated on the back of my bicycle. The session length was just right and Vincent was patient and gave clear instructions. The session was tailored to my exact needs and there was a good combination of instructor-and pupil- lead cycling, which I found particularly beneficial. Also, the chance to discuss, walk through and then cycle the busy road junctions I negotiate on a daily basis was very useful.
The session was very comprehensive and I really appreciated advice on bike security, insurance, accessories, maintenance and even a few leisure cycling route recommendations!
Thank you very much indeed.”
Emily S., Southampton.
“I was extremely impressed with all aspects of the training. Vincent responded to my initial enquiry very quickly, tailored the training session exactly to my needs and provided an excellent training session on the day. I would highly recommend Vincent to anyone, especially anyone like me, who is a nervous cyclist.”
Phillipa H. Southampton.
“Not at all sure what to expect, but found the session really informative and fun.
Very individualised outcomes and Vincent took into account what I wanted to be able to do.
The time flew by and I really feel more confident to ride on the road safely.
“Thank you for doing my children’s level 1 Bikeability. They all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were delighted to have passed the ‘test’. It has given them confidence and made them aware of road safety and to consider others, which will help them when we now move them on to cycling on the road.”
Vicky B., Dibden Purlieu.
“Our daughter missed out on the Bikeability training that was given to Y6 pupils at her Primary School just before Christmas, so I was determined to find her some lessons during the Easter break. On the web, I found Vincent who was very happy to teach not only our daughter her Level 2, but also to include our son, guiding him through his Level 1.
Our son, who is 9 years old and has Down’s syndrome, loved the short Level 1 course and, amongst other things, learnt to cycle with only one hand on the handlebars, while the other hand signalled. He was so pleased with himself, and he became a lot more confident on his bike.
Our daughter passed her Level 2 with Vincent taking her out on his local roads. She had not cycled on the road at all before this Course. Vincent instructed her mainly by example, which she liked, and he boosted her confidence by telling her she was a quick learner and that she listened well.
While our daughter was out on the roads with Vincent, our son was able to continue practising in the Calmore Primary School playground with me, where Vincent had left us plenty of cones to use as markers, which was just perfect. The sessions were brought to a close with a race, a slow race – which could cycle the slowest?
This was fun! Both children came away with a Certificate and a Badge each, and more importantly, a much better understanding of cycle skills and road safety.
Thank you, Vincent!”
Marian B., Winchester.
“Firstly, I would like to say these are genuine comments. I am a lady of 71 years, and haven’t used a bike for about 30 years, but after about an hour (maybe less) with Vincent’s help and advice, I felt so much better, I’d lost the nerves, because Vincent made me feel so much at ease, and capable, so I gained confidence, and I rode quite a bit, so for me, I’m really glad I contacted 123CycleRight.”
S. Reardon, Woolston, Southampton.
“I found the training very helpful and now I feel more confident cycling on the Road. Vincent taught me quickly and I really enjoyed doing the right thing on the Road.”
Jocelyne G., Hythe.
“Excellent couple of hours well spent. I had got into some bad habits riding too defensively and hence more at risk. Vincent taught me to ride assertively (cyclists have every right to be on the road?
And probably more safely.”
Rev. Lawrence Fellick, Swaythling.
“We were very happy with the training. It was very thorough and presented in a fun way.
I would strongly recommend 123cycleright.”
Ian Mackenzie, Camberley.
“Our boys loved this, Thank you. They did not consider it ‘work or a test’, but a treat!”
Amanda C. McK, Sarisbury Green.
“The course was really good, we enjoyed it and would love to do level 3.”
